I was born into a wealthy family; my grandfather was very wealthy and only had 1 child my father. Unfortunately, my father wasn't like my grandfather and wasted away his inheritance and I had been to the best schools and my grandfather had paid for everything. But he passed away before I went to university, and everything was already arranged and paid for via his will. He didn't create a trust fund for me, and my father went the family fortune quickly. What he didn't waste, he invested badly and when just about everything was gone including the family. He shot himself and couldn't even do that right. I had just started my career and then had a father who had brain damage to look after, but all his years of drinking to excess caught up with him. He had a heart attack and died. My mother had died when I was 7 and hadn't met my mother's parents as they were gone before I was born, and she had no siblings. My father's mother died when I was 12 and he likewise no siblings. I was the last of the line and almost totally broke due to my father's hospital bills and funeral. But I had a good career and if I worked hard, I might get somewhere myself. Of course, I still had the family name my father hadn't destroyed it luckily. Which helped me get thru the rough patch as I'll call it, by getting me married. I wasn't dating anyone and a client of the firm I was working for was an old friend of my late grandfather. He knew of my financial position and its causes. He made me an offer which was too good to refuse. Marry his granddaughter 18 and I would setup as I should've been before my father wasted my inheritance. He was what is referred to as new money and not old money like my family had been. I accepted without seeing the bride to be and expected the worst. But I wouldn't have struggle and as long as I didn't make any unwanted scandals, I would be okay. I was surprised when I met my bride to be, she was pretty and had good figure and had a bad stutter. I was then worried she wouldn't want to marry me, but she was a dutiful granddaughter and agreed to marry because her grandfather wanted her too. Her parents were deceased, and she only had her grandfather. Who was very wealthy, even more than my grandfather had been. The wedding was the big social event of that year and after I had my now wife get help for her stuttering, she hadn't before because she wouldn't leave her home without her grandfather and had been home schooled. I was able as her husband to get the best help available. She still has a slight stutter now years later and we have 5 children the youngest is 17. I've run the family business since the passing of her grandfather and haven't had the need to stray in my marriage. My wife is my best friend and lover and always there for me and I her.
