My Time Finally Came

I've been mostly successful in my career and life except for my love life. Which did exist but didn't progress to marriage. Always the groomsman never the groom seemed to be my fate. I'm the person who catches your eye, except when I'm the only one there to see. I met a very nice woman and was getting on well with her, but she fell for a friend of mine. Which was fairly normal in my experience, I must admit they looked great together. Then they got engaged and it looked like I was to be best man. But fate had other ideas, my friend liked extreme sports and while paragliding he crashed and died. I was away on business and heard the news on my return. His Fiancée was destressed, I was also upset by the news. Anyway, as time passed, I stayed close, we were friends. No sexual relationship and as time passed, she didn't date and seemed to have become a recluse. Finally, I got to go a concert with me, we started going out more and more. Then one night after being out together I was dropping her off at her home and she asked me to stay the night. I did, we started a relationship and after 7 month I asked her to marry me. I was afraid she would say no, but she accepted, we married late November last year and are now expecting our first child.
