Felt Entitled

I've always gotten anything I wanted and thus felt entitled to get whatever I wanted. Chose to go overseas to do university and quickly got a wakeup call that I wasn't entitled to get anything I wanted. It seems only back home do people like get whatever they want, no special treatment under law overseas. Of course I could afford great lawyers, but they told me I wouldn't get off just because of my family's wealth or name like back home. A month in jail was a real awakening, so I pulled my head in as the saying goes. Funny thing happened I started to enjoy my life a great deal more as a result. I got real friends, no hangers on as before and after my university finished. I found I had a better lifestyle than I'd ever had. I also met a gorgeous girl and we married and now have 3 children. I realized if I hadn't changed, she wouldn't have given a second look. I went from a self-centered moron to a caring husband and father, and I now live overseas as I prefer the work life balance here than back home. Where we live to work and work to live and all the problems it festers in the community.
