Old school friend

Friend might be a bit much of a stretch, I knew her at school because she was in my class. I was the class nerd, and she was one of the cool kids. But she was always considerate not running me down she stood out a bit more than the others. I went on to university and then a great career and was doing great, then by chance I saw my old classmate. She was working for the same company as me, but I was in top management, and she was an lowly functionary. As my boss called the low-level workers, I done some inquiries and found 2 things, one she was single and was having a hard time, she never went to university as her mother got very ill and she was her mother's carer. Now her mother had passed away and she was trying get by with no skills and only on short term contract. I was able to have an assistant if I wanted, but preferred working alone. Feeling sorry for her I decided I would hire her as my assistant. But didn't want her thinking it was charity of some other reason. I rang her section supervisor and asked for a mature employee to assist me on a project. Knowing full well she was the oldest there among his staff, he said her name and I told him to send her straight to my office. She was sent and as I found out later thought she was in trouble for something. Anyway, she arrived at my office and my secretary told her to wait. All my secretary knew I had someone coming and they were to wait. I was only going to make her wait short time, but the boss came in and want me to take over a urgent job. So, I would be travelling away in 2 days once I was up to date with the job. I was the fixer of problems and when something went wrong, I was sent to fix it. I'd almost forgot about her, but my secretary asked me about her and I quickly remember and said send her in. I was moving about my office getting things to take with me, I finally stopped and looked at her and said so you're to be my assistant. Adding as you can see I'm usually fairly busy, you think you can keep up with me. Before she even answered I said good, are you able to travel at short notice. Again, before she could answer, I said we will be going away day after tomorrow and I'll have my secretary make the bookings required leave all your details with her. Then I left to start getting acquainted with the project. She of course was confused and just did as I'd instructed. I always get in early and was busy when she arrived with my secretary, I didn't much to do with her as she was getting set up to be my assistant, security pass to enter the building and ID card, as well as computer access and email access. It was about 2pm, when I was finished with updating on the project. I finally had time to get to know her as they say. After we had been together about half an hour or so I said your familiar to me and asked she go to my old school, and she said yes. That was when she remembered me, I told her she should get packed, and I would pick her up on my way to airport in the morning about 6 30. At 6 30 I picked her up in a company car, not a limo just a car and a driver to take people to and from wherever, like airports. On the plane we were in business class, and she was nervous it was her first flight; on arrival we got a cab as we don't have cars everywhere. We booked in our rooms and straight to the first meeting. If she had any idea I wasn't in need of an assistant, she found out, I did. Not only were we busy all day, while was in meeting she had to take messages and retime meetings. Then she was asked to tell me of a dinner with the client that evening and she was also to attend. This was a worry to her as she didn't have a dress suitable for such a thing. But on telling me about the dinner and how she didn't a dress suitable. I said no problem we'll get you a dress. The dinner that night was the best I've been too, because I had her with me. She looked great and we got back to the hotel late and were up again early next morning, I'd her come to my room and have breakfast with me and we talked about the day ahead. Then onto another busy day, but no dinner to go to that night. Now we were about done everything was finished, but I decided to have her have dinner with me. As it was her first trip to that city, I delayed departure so she could see the sights. On our return she started to settle into her job better, I was also asked by HR about my assistant as she was short-term. I said I wanted her to stay as she was very good and had already gotten to grips with the job. But there is always someone who wants to cause a fuss. The manager those junior to me had his knickers in a twist because HR hadn't employed her for my assistant position. In fact, they had no knowledge of me wanting a assistant. Even those I was entitled; I could've argued with him. But decided to end it, I ask the boss wasn't entitled to an assistant anymore and he asked why I was asking I said I got an assistant now HR wants to take her away from me. He rang HR and told them she stays and that was that. We became closer as we work very close together and had sex and she moved in with me. I got another promotion and was required to travel anymore, keeping both my assistant and secretary. I married my assistant, and she is due to have our daughter next month. Still my assistant and comes to work with me every day, I've an assistant secretary now also and my secretary watches over my wife/assistant like mother hen.
