Night Shift

I (34) work for I T company and I 'm employed as systems monitor, meaning I keep an eye on all the machines during the night. I work 6pm to 6am 7 nights on 7 nights off, I never work during the days and work in monitor's office which everything in the multi-story building is monitored. There are security guards that control the entry and exit of the building and only the cleaning staff are in the building after 6pm besides the guards and the monitor. There are daytime monitors, and they work 6am to 6pm 7 on and 7 off, I prefer the night shifts as it is better paid. I also run an online business and that was my lifestyle until last October. When I met one of the cleaners, she is 48 lived by herself and she was upset as she had lost her rented room and was having a hard time finding another place she could afford. She was staying at hostel and could only stay there a maximum of 5 nights. The room she rented was in a building that had many code filiations and it had caught fire due to electrical additions that weren't up to code. the only thing she lost was a place to sleep. I live in an old warehouse converted to living accommodations, it's up to code and too costly for cleaner. I saw a way of making extra cash, I had an unused room and so I offered her the room at $5 less than her previous room. There was a bad thunderstorm while she was at work and hadn't any coat or umbrella to walk the 4 blocks to our apartment. She decided to wait out the storm and the best place to do that was the monitoring room. It was still raining when I finished not as hard, and we went to the diner for breakfast. By the time we were ready go home, it was a very light drizzle and so we walked home. It was Saturday morning I had the next 7 nights off and she had 2 off. She was only joking, but at the time I thought she wanted me to was her back. I agreed and she realized I was serious, instead of back tracking and saying it was a joke.
