Down on the Farm

I inherited the family farm, because I was the only one prepared to take it on. My uncle didn't want it sold and so put the no sale clause in his will. No children of his own as they predeceased him, my mother his only sibling had no interest in the farm. My father was already deceased at the time. After moving to the farm in 2018 and not long finish my agriculture studies. The farm was fairly up to date and had mostly new machinery, I done some little upgrades here and there. I settled in and got into a routine and in June of 2019 my only cousin on my father's side came for a visit, having just lost her mother (my father's sister) and her father having departed many years earlier. As a only child like me we had grown up together. Being 2 years younger than me, I thought of her as more of a sister than a cousin as we had been together so much growing up. Only separating when I went off to college, my mother was happy living in the city. My cousin felt lonely in the city since her mother's death and came to visit. A long visit as she started looking for a job locally straight away on her arrival. I was quite happy to have her stay as long as she wanted and enjoyed, her company. Then the pandemic started, and she lost her job due to the lockdown. But she helped me around the farm, but she had already been doing that before the pandemic started. One thing led to another, and we became lovers and she got pregnant, and tests showed no problems. We travelled and got married after the lockdowns were over. Back at the farm and my mother came to live with us, she wanted to be closer to us after the lockdowns and had decided to sell up and join us. My cousin/wife returned to her job after the birth of our son and my mother decided to manage the farm accounts and household and care for her grandson. My wife is again expecting and my mother hopes for a girl this time. We should know early next month if she gets her wish. I'm very happy having my entire family living with me on my farm and I'm doing quite well with the farm and have just bought the neighboring farm to increase our production. The neighbors retired and no family member wanted to take it on. My mother is a qualified accountant and has started doing accounts for others in the area as well as ours. All is going well for us and we hope it continues.
