Orphan

I was 3 when I was put into state care and stayed there until 15, I wasn't good looking as a child nor even today. But most people looking to adopt wanted a child that looked okay. I wasn't ugly just refused to stay clean and tidy that turned the choice away from me. While in state care I was teased that I was the son of Lurch the butler of the Adam's family. But I was sent out to make own way at 15, put into an apprenticeship and I stayed doing the training and becoming a qualified plumber. No romances by then and continued to work for same firm as before. Like Lurch I'm fairly tall at 6'4" and those not as handsome as Lurch, I was well built. Still not interested in my appearance as I was growing up. Then my boss Keith asked if I would go and help out an old friend of his, who also ran a plumbing business and had an accident. It was a one man business in a small town sixty miles away and I would be there at least 2 months. Not attached or really connected to the place I was, I accepted. The only interest outside of work I had was acting. I would never be a star I knew that as I usually only got really small parts in the plays the group I was with put on or just helping with the scenery. I also have a pranksters spirt as I call it, my fellow actors in the called annoying. I would put stunts on them during rehearsals, never when a plays was on with an audience. I headed off to assist Paul, Keith's friend who was laid up with a badly broken leg. I met him and started the next day and had to replace a drain pipe and it was a lot deeper than was usual, as the land had been built up years after it was laid down. I just disconnected it at the house and made a new trench straight to main pipe was located, but main pipe was deeper and I had to connect to it. This meant digging a deeper hole about 4 and a half feet deep, 3 feet deeper than is usual. I dug a 4 by 4 feet square and down 4 and half feet. School children on the way to school made fun of me and I pulled funny faces at them. I had just finished the connect of the new drain pipe to the mains when I heard the school bell ringing. I decided to give the students a fright on their way home. I put a scaring mask and sat in the hole, on hearing the children talking and giggling, I jumped up and roared towards them. I really gave them a fright, I also gave a woman a big fright as well. She didn't faint but fell over backwards onto the grass luckily. Kathy 26 single and was walking her niece and nephew home, she was going to visit her sister and met the children leaving the school. She took it as a joke and I was happy she wasn't hurt. Her niece and nephew also enjoyed the prank, nothing happened the rest of the week. Then on the Saturday I was out shopping and Kathy seen me and walked up behind me and tried to give a scare as payback. But I had seen her coming in my wing mirror and was scared. We talked awhile and parted, the next Saturday I saw Kathy and decided to asked her out. No luck with that, but we talked again. She told she couldn't as she was involved with the local theatre group and they had show coming up and were practicing every chance they got. I told her of my involvement with a theatre group and she asked me to join them that night. I hadn't anything else and agreed, there wasn't vacancies in their show and just watched them practice and had a coffee with them afterwards. But I had found out something very important, Kathy wasn't in any type of relationship at the time. So I still had chance with her, the next morning I went over the see Paul with regards the work for the upcoming week, there I also met Kathy she was also visiting Paul her uncle. Later in the day I watch some sport on the T V in my cabin at the van park. I had busy workload that week and didn't get to any practices, but saw Kathy again on the Saturday morning at the supermarket. The performance was on that evening and she asked me was I going and I said I going to get a ticket. Good she said and pulled tickets out of her bag and I got one her. I did like the show and I again asked Kathy to go out with and she agreed. We had great times on our dates, but only got as far as kissing. Then Paul was up and about again, another week and I could return home. But Paul had a lot of work on his books and had very good reports on my work and behavior. He offered me a fulltime job working for him. I was willing to stay and didn't have anything back home, even a home there. But I thought I owed Keith, he did train me and gave me fulltime work as well. I told Paul I thought I owed Keith and should return, Paul then rang Keith and Keith told me to stay if I wanted too. He would happy if I'm happy, so I decided to stay. Main reason I wanted to stay was Kathy and I saw her later that day told her I was staying and she was very happy. Over the next month we started to sleep together and even act together. I even got a main part in a play, Lurch in the Adam's family. I'm type cast, Kathy and me got really serious and I bought a home and then asked her to marry me. She accepted as long as we had a themed wedding you guessed it the Adam's Family Theme. That was 15 years ago now and we have 4 children and I've just bought out Paul as he has retired, he had made me partner 5 years after starting with him fulltime. By the way my is an old Gothic style house, that we dress up for Halloween. I play the Butler.
