I returned from living overseas early last year, I purchased a small farm to raise pigs and chickens and also got 3 horses. The farm is only forty acres and 8 miles from the closest town. Good Karen said why don't you stop looking for a place to live and stay on the farm with David and you look after the house make sure he eats properly. I said It fine by me and Ruth agreed. She stopped looking for another place and we settled into a routine. When her car broke down, I drove to work and the children to school and worked on the car and fixed for her. But it was old and was starting to break down a lot and I bought a car for her and we sold her car for parts. It wasn't a flash car but it was dependable, then the 2 boys went to visit their father's parents for 2 weeks in the holidays. That first weekend we were alone together it rained very heavy and a tree fell over busting the side of my pigpens. Ruth was out in the rain with me catching pigs and putting them back in their pen, which I had done a quick repair on by using old wooden pallets to block the hole in the sidewall. By the time we were finished, we were both soaked and covered with mud. I hosed her down and she hosed me down before we entered the house, the rear entry was a mudroom for removing boots and anything else before entering the house. Both soaking wet and Ruth not wanting to drip water all over the house said we should leave everything in the mudroom and dry ourselves a bit with the towel that was there and then go and shower. Being a smartass I asked your want to get naked and shower together, then waiting for her shocked response.
