Lucky Last

I'm the last direct male in my family line and at 31 I wasn't married or dating anyone at that time. Two reasons I'm not good at small talk or chatting up females and I was really involved in my work at the time and excessive wouldn't be overstating it. But as the last direct male I was of interest to some family members. It's cultural and I won't go into it now, but there's a title involved. Money, businesses and land also involved; the current title holder was in his late eighties. Family members saw me as a way of getting into the direct line of inheritance. By family members I mean third and fourth cousins, I'm an only child and the only nephew of the current title holder. My father was the younger brother and was 51 when I was born. My uncle hadn't any children of his own that survived today. Adventurous lifestyles cut short their lives, I on the other hand led a somewhat boring life, but as the direct heir the mothers of the 5 female cousins saw me as a way to inherit big time. Some of the daughters weren't interested in me and some were very interested. only one hadn't decided either way and didn't try at all. They ranged in age from 19 to 40 at the time and the two older ones had no real interest in me, the one who hadn't yet decided is 26 and the very interested ones are 19 and 23. Suddenly two young women were wanting to be with me all the time and I was getting invited to different things regularly. But me being me I didn't show the interest they wanted me to show. The yet undecided was at some the events and didn't show much interest either way. It was only later that we met at job interview, she was after a position, and I worked at the business. I wasn't the interviewer, I just met while she was waiting. She missed out on the job, and I was promoted and was entitled to an assistant. Not really great with male/female interaction I remembered by fourth cousin who I felt at ease with. So, I called her and asked if she gotten a job yet and she hadn't but had several more interviews coming up. I straight out offered her the job and asked me why her; I told her I felt relaxed when I was near her. She accepted that as good enough reason and became my assistant. That annoyed other the cousins a bit and they soon got over it. Then while working away we got caught by the sudden pandemic lockdown and had to isolate together and neither of us were dating anyone at the time and over period of the lockdown we became lovers and by the time the lockdown ended. We were in a very strong relationship and shortly after she got pregnant and so I married her. Now 2 children later, both boys I'm still quite happy being married and think I'm very lucky. My uncle is still going and next year will turn 90. But it's not high on our list of priories. As the only male heir I inherit and if I die first my oldest son, so why worry about the future.
