Country Life

I got bored and fed up with living in the city and decided to move to the quiet countryside for a change of lifestyle. I'm lucky I work from home a great deal. So I found the perfect place for my image of country living, Larger than required house with 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. 3 bedrooms would have done me, a barn and other outbuildings and 75 acres of land with a small creek running through it. I'm Kevin 46 divorced 2 grown children who have left home. I was twenty miles from the closest town and 3 miles from my nearest neighbor. I had a highspeed internet connection installed and I was all set, no animals not even a dog. I was still thinking of getting some horses and a dog. But hadn't got that far at the time of the goat incident, it was a Saturday and I had finished the work I needed to finish. I decided to go for a walk around my land, I ended up by the creek and started skipping stones across the water. I bent down to pick up some more stones and a goat charged and knocked me over into the creek. I hadn't seen the goat before and it stayed on the bank of the creek looking at me. Then Susan 42 divorced appeared and grabbed the goat and she said she was sorry her goat had butted me into the creek. Rascal was the goat's name and he had a history of escaping her property and also butting anyone bending over. Although she said she was sorry, she still had a big grin on her face. I was unhurt and I soon became the butt of jokes in the local town for a while. Susan invited me over for dinner to make up for her goat butting me. She lived her widowed mother Grace 57 and her children Ronald 12 and Constance 10. I asked was the goat on the menu, sadly no and we were soon seeing each other more often. I hadn't been looking for any relationships and we just fell into one. Susan helped me pick out horses and other livestock and I got a dog I called Shep. Mainly because he was the first to come to me out the litter, Shep is a very forward dog and soon ran foul of Rascal. Luckily Shep got out of his way. That was 3 years ago, Shep is now fully grown and Rascal avoids him. Susan and I married early last year and have baby girl Grace almost 2. We moved Susan's mother's house on to my larger block and their herd of Goats. Grace sold her block to another neighbor and we are happy living altogether. Shep has stopped Rascal butting people and makes sure he stays in his paddock. Susan and Grace raise the goats for land clearing and do quite well from it.
