Moving to the Country

I'm Gordan and I met Christine at university and had hoped to start a relationship with her, but she disappeared suddenly and I didn't know what had happened. So I started in the family business and wondered where Christine was, 4 years later I learned that Christine had returned home, as her father died suddenly and she was needed to help with the farm. But I still didn't know where the farm was. The university wouldn't release any information about her address and all I had was the state she said she was from and I couldn't find her family name anywhere in the records I was able to access. Then I came across an old fruit crate being used to store jars in one of our family storerooms. Nothing special about that except it had a logo that Christine had on one of her sweaters. She had told me that her local co-op used the logo and I was able to find what county used that logo. I was getting closer but still couldn't track down Christine. I started to think she might have married but wondered why I couldn't trace her family name. I was about to give up when I learned that the farmers in that county rarely used their surnames and when by the farm's name instead. Like for example Gordan of Wall valley farm, I quickly found out that Christine was a popular name in that county and they didn't gossip with strangers. Being well off I decided to move to the area to live and hoped to find Christine somehow myself. I was able to buy a farm of 375 acres and would grow Lucerne and would be able to sell it through one of our family business interests. I got the usual livestock poultry, pigs and several horses for riding. Before I moved I had everything fixed up the way I wanted and had hired 2 farmhands to do the farmwork. On arrival, I noticed that the next block of land was also up for sale and I brought it also. That added another 213 acres to my farm. A large fertilizer company had brought a farm and didn't want all the land and so they sold it and as it was right next mine it was ideal for me to buy it. I thought I would have trouble finding Christine, but as luck would have it. Her family farm was on the other side of mine and Christine and her mother Elizabeth and several others turned up to welcome their new neighbor to the county. Christine hadn't changed a bit and I was very happy to learn wasn't married or in any relationship. So I asked her out and she accepted and then there was a large storm and it caused a lot of damage across the county, I lost some roofing and nothing else. I went and checked on Christine and her family farm and they had a shed collapse and it damaged their harvester and it would be usable in the coming harvest. I didn't have any crops to harvest and told them they could use mine, it was old and it worked and had come with the farm and I wouldn't need it even when I had Lucerne to cut and bale. Over the next year, Christine and I start to have regular sex and I asked her to marry me and she accepted. That was five years ago and we have 2 children and another on the way. Christine's family has changed to grow Lucerne like and we can always sell every bale we grow.
