The Inheritance

Early last year my uncle Daniel died and his estate was split between us all, except for his house. There is a condition attached and I was the only one to accept it. The 4 bed 3 bath house is in an old area of the city, with only some warehouses and small businesses around it except straight across the street is an old Cemetery, not like the Lawn Cemeteries in brochures. This one is like the horror movie style, at least night when it is all dark. I had to live in the house at 2 years and couldn't sell it for 10 years after completing the condition. I was the only 1 who was interested in taking on the house, at 19 it was great my own home and it wasn't all that far from my work. I told a few friends about the house and told them they could board with me. Most passed when they saw the Cemetery across the street, 2 stayed a night and that was it for them. At my work was Linda 18, she and her mother younger sibling all lived together. The father had died a year before and they couldn't afford the rent on their place. Hearing my offer of 3 rooms available, Linda asked me if She and her mother could look at the rooms. I said Okay and also mentioned the Cemetery across the street. Still interested we made time the following Saturday for them to have a look. Her younger brother Gavin 13 was happy about the Cemetery across the street. Linda was so sure and mother Elaine 45 wasn't worried about it. They liked the rooms and the low amount I wanted and agreed to move in with me. Linda and I would be able to drive to work each day together and Elaine could drop off Gavin at school on her way to her job. They moved in that weekend and over the next couple of weeks we got used to each other. Gavin wanted to investigate the Cemetery at night and had no takers from us or was allowed to go by himself. Elaine started to make the garden look better, as she loved gardening. So about a month after they moved in her, Linda and I went to the local garden center for some things. While I found some solar lights with little red, green and blue lights that tinkled and you spread thru your garden I wasn't going use them in the garden but thought they be great in the Cemetery for Halloween. Hopefully scaring Gavin, Linda was happy with my idea. But I would have to install them myself, Elaine thought it would funny especially with our party at our place that night. Over the next 2 weeks, I got 2 horror masks that also glowed in the dark from a joke shop near and when I set them up with the lights, I placed red lights in their eye holes. I had already tested the solar lights in the back yard before, I took the Wednesday off and placed my lights in the Cemetery and when I picked Linda up from work that afternoon I told everything was set up. She said I think it would scare Gavin, I said You never know till you try. Once all of us were home we started setting up for the party. Gavin had a couple of friends coming with their Parents who also were friends of Elaine. Just before it got too dark I went across to the Cemetery and place dry ice into a couple of plastic tubs of water to make a mist. I placed them high points so mist would seem to flow thru the Cemetery. I hadn't anyone about this, hoping to scare them. Just after it got dark Gavin there were little lights in the Cemetery and there was a fog rolling in. As more people saw the lights and the fog and the masks were made out by some then all. It wasn't having the affected on Gavin I wanted, as he wanted to go over to the Cemetery. Linda and Elaine knew about the lights and the masks, but the fog was a concern for them. When I was ready I let everyone know about tricks in the Cemetery. Gavin thought was the greatest thing he had seen on a Halloween. Linda and I were kissing and later that night started to sleep together and still are. Gavin wants to help with this years Halloween setup. He still has the video on his cellphone of the lights and horror masks with the fog from the dry ice around them.
