Right under my Nose all the time

I'm successful in just about everything I tried, my one slight failing was finding a wife. I had plenty of women, none were what I wanted in a wife. In my busy office I'd four female staff, 3 were married and had children. The other I overlooked, she 28 was shy never stood out you could say and was at the bottom the hierarchy in my office. Did her work well, was always at the back. That all changed last June, I'd been working on the business deal of my life to that point, it came together suddenly, quicker than I thought it would at the time. I needed to finalize it on the upcoming weekend, normally I'd had at least two weeks to arrange everything. So, one of my 3 top staff could arrange everything to accompany me. But not at such short notice, my one saving grace was my fourth staff member unattached and no plans ever made for the weekends. But she would need to accompany me to a dinner as well as meetings. She had no dinner dress, she never dressed to impress either. But I was desperate, my other staff suggested a quick makeover, so I told them to make it happen. They arranged everything hair, makeup and clothes and I was stunned by the result. I wasn't worried about her during meetings as she was very competent at her work. Her socializing skills were unknown by me, so I took her out to dinner the night before we were to fly out. She was a lot better than I thought would be, but didn't start conversations only reacting to them. As we were to fly out early (6am) the next morning, I'd her stay overnight with me at my apartment in my spare room. Rising at 4am we had coffee and headed for the airport, arriving at destination checked into our rooms. Quickly received a call from the client about bringing forward the meeting by 2 hours. So, we'd little time to settle in, a tactic I've used in the past. But my companion was calm and ready, and I (32) was impressed by her readiness. The meeting went better than I thought it would, my companion was onto any anything they tried. My impression of her improved greatly, my worries of what would happen disappeared. My eyes now fully opened at her abilities, now started looking at her as a woman and what I saw made realized she was the soulmate I was looking for all along. She was everything I wanted in a wife intelligent and with her makeover gorgeous. But she was always gorgeous just hadn't shown it before. That night at the dinner she was great, never started the conversation, but handled everything asked of her very well. I'd changed my view of her and made a pass at her, which she accepted. On our return she was now my girlfriend and lover, after several months she moved in with me and we married 2 months later. She was my righthand at every meeting and still is, our children are both under 3 at the moment and travel everywhere with us along with her mother (widow) who cares for her grandchildren. Only other change is we have a house to live in, not an apartment.
