The New Neighbor

I'M Arch 54 widower and I work for the local power company. My wife died 6 years ago of cancer after 3 and a half battle. We have 3 children all grown up and far away, I live in a quite area of our town. Nothing much happens around here, my neighbors retired and moved away to be closer to their grandchildren. After a few weeks a sold sign went up at their old cottage and 3 weeks later the new neighbor arrived. Her name was Maud 67 retired school teacher and a want a be author. She looked good for her age and seemed nice, I didn't see her much the first couple of weeks, even on the weekends our paths didn't cross. Then the end the third week, I got home from working a long shift and got a take away on the way home for a late dinner. I had just finished my dinner and cleaning up, when there was a knock at the door. It was Maud, she had seen my lights on and had come to asked me to look at her circuit board as she had just lost all power. I grabbed a torch and went back with her to her home. On checking the power board I saw had a blown all the 2 light fuses. On repairing them, they blow again. Opening up the back of the fuse panel I found a dead lizard had connect the wires of the fuses with it body and was fried. After removing it and doing some minor repairs, I got the lights to work. I told Maud that she should modernize her fuse box. She said She would look into it, I returned home had a bath and went to bed, next morning I mowed the grass and trimmed my hedges. After lunch I was sitting by the old oak in my backyard reading a men's magazine. When Maud came to the fence and called to me, I quickly hid the magazine and went see what she wanted. She wanted to ask me over for afternoon tea as a thankyou for my help the night before. I said I would be happy attend after I change yard cloths. See you soon then was her reply and went back to her house. I went inside and had bath and put on new clothes and went to Mauds house. While having afternoon tea we talked and found out we had similar interests. So we started spending time together, including going out for dinner and movies. At the movies a month ago I put my arm around her and she gave me a kiss on my cheek. After the movie we went for a drive and then a coffee, on returning her home. She invited me for another coffee and I went with her to the kitchen and while she was making the coffee I walked up kissed her on the cheek. She turned around and I then kissed her on her lips and she kissed me back. After a bit of kissing, we had our coffees and she asked If I wanted to stay the night. Yes I replied and we had sex and have been ever since. Every chance we get between visiting relatives and friends hers and mine.
