The Waitress

I visited a local diner regularly as I'm no cook myself and there I had most of my meals. I became friendly with all the staff and so it went. One waitress I'll call Judy was always being asked out by customers and rejected all. She was 28 at the time and quite attractive and I'm no looker and not one of the would-be Romeo's annoying her. Two things happened fairly close together, first her apartment building had a fire and second the pandemic struck. Forced to stay at a motel while damage to the apartment was repaired, which was a big strain on her income. The pandemic stopped all repairs and also forced the diner to close. Without income she was caught in financial trap, I was at the diner on its last day open. I was friendly with Judy and hadn't been hitting on her and hearing of her housing problem, offered her my spare room. Only condition was she done all the cooking, I really didn't thing she would accept. But I wasn't someone she didn't trust as she said I always acted like true gentleman towards her. So, she accepted out of necessary more than anything else. Not expecting it to last very long, we started living together in my home 3bed 1 bath home and everything was going great. No problems, but the lockdown dragged on and on. We became close and started interacting more and more and finally we became lovers. By the time the lockdown ended, Judy was pregnant, but we didn't know for sure at that time. But was a real possibility and was proved several weeks later, the diner didn't reopen straight away as mold had grown while closed and had to be removed and everything redone. Her apartment building was repaired, but her lease had lapsed during the lockdown, and she didn't renew it. Now she is pregnant again and our beautiful daughter was born in 2021 and we had married in late 2020. She never returned to work at the diner, but we go there every now and then for old times' sake. As we know most of the staff still and they are always glad to see us. I'm 6 years older than Judy and I feel she completes me.
