Sci Fi Fun

I moved interstate for a new job and was feeling a bit lonely away from family. I'm a quiet person by nature and hadn't made any really close at the time. At 34 and not in any relationship at the time. I was asked if I wanted to join the people, I worked with in a sci fi party weekend. I hadn't anything else parted so agreed just to get to know my work colleagues better. Not wanting to stand out too much, I chose to be a starship trooper from the movie Starship Troopers, and I was the only one who did. Everyone else was either Star Wars or Star Trek in their dress ups. I thought nobody would notice me, but a 30-year-old receptionist did and started hanging out with me. She was dressed in Star Trek short red uniform dress, and she also loved Starship Troopers. By the time the weekend was over we were firm friends and started dating and then sleeping together. So, not lonely anymore and was in a relationship. It seems Sci Fi parties are the in thing at my new job and they have one every couple of months. I'm still a Starship Trooper and so is my girlfriend and we always reenact the shower scene in our hotel room every night. Much better in person than watching on TV.
