Financial Bride

I had to marry to collect my inheritance or lose it, my father wanted me to marry and carry on the family name. But I was enjoying myself to much to think about it, I didn't need to work as I had a large trust fund and lived on the family estate. I was the only child and so I thought I was set, but my father who had waited too long and only had me. Wanted me to marry and start a family, mother agreed with him so no comfort from her in this matter. But I wasn't doing anything so my father put a clause in his will and I wouldn't get anything if I wasn't married and at least expecting a child by the time of his death. I'm Duncan 34 born when my mother was 35, at first I took little interest. But that changed in early 2021. My father got ill very ill and it looked as if he could pass away. That brought it home to me. I could lose everything and so I was in a panic and had to find a wife.
I even checked out to see if I could buy a wife, but no I couldn't. I wasn't able to just marry anyone, they would have to be respectable according to the will. I was really happy when my father condition improved, but I now knew I would have to marry and soon. I really thought I didn't know anyone I could marry and meet the standard set in the will. But as it turned out I did, Kristine 30 worked for the family lawyers. She was smart and I hadn't gave her a second look, she was the bookish type and didn't attract my attention. It was only a casual remark when my father was seeing the lawyers and I was with him due to his frail health. His lawyers assistant remarked after she had dropped off the file and left, that she was a spinster. My father remarked that she was nice respectable woman and she was also very efficient in her job and his lawyer nodded. I now knew someone my father liked, so I decided to try and date Kristine. I failed badly, she wasn't interested in dating me or anyone. At first I thought she was a lesbian, but it turned out she doesn't trust men in general after what a man (her father) had done to her late mother. But I also learned she loved animals and spent time a animal welfare shelters helping out on weekend. I knew I couldn't just turn up and try dating her, it would only add to her mistrust of me. I started helping out financially and actually turned up Monday to Friday helping with the animals. Not on the weekends when Kristine would be there, I'll do that later. It took me a while to get use to doing it, but I continued doing it and also started enjoying it. I would do as had been normal for me on weekends. I even adopted 2 dogs and took them home with me, finally after 6 weeks I turned up on a weekend. I had a good reason I was asked by the manager to assist him and thought it was the perfect reason to turn up, Kristine wouldn't suspect my true motive. I was right she was surprised to see me there, but as I was there to help the manager. It didn't make her think I was chasing her, in fact I only saw her for a couple of minutes. But I decided to return the Sunday as well and had more time with her, but didn't try to get her to date me. I saw her again Tuesday another meeting between my father and his lawyer. This time she talked to me and I had to try and asked her out, this time she agreed. I still went to animal every day and now also on the weekends as well. I took it slow and finally got her into bed and had also brought her home for dinner with the family. I hadn't done that before, I must admit I really liked Kristine and my 2 dogs already knew her. She was happy to see them happy and housed, which was another tick for me. My father had a turn as he called it and so I stepped up my plan, I asked Kristine to marry me. She was a little shocked and gave me I'll have to think on it reply. I told no rush, 3 days later she accepted and as she had no close family I said we should marry straight away. We married a fortnight later at the animal shelter as most of her close friends were there anyway. My father and mother were delighted I had married and we would still at family estate with them. It was only about 2 months later Kristine was pregnant. The estate is 33 acres and it had old stable block and with Kristine encouragement I had them fixed up and got horses for riding, including a rescue horse from the shelter. We just had a son and have quite a menagerie of animals as well, I was sure my father wouldn't allow her to have so many animals. But he lets her do whatever she wants and his health has improved. Doctor said it due to the extra exercise as he goes walking with the dogs everyday. I'm very happy with my Financial Bride.
