Rural Retreat

I've always wanted my own farm or something similar, being born in a large city. I would dream of living on my own property and away from the hustle and bustle of the city crowds. I work from home and could live anywhere with a good internet connection. While browsing the net looking for somewhere quiet and remote to live, not expecting to find anything that suited my wish list. I came across an auction site that listed a 400-acre block of land with ex-military buildings on it in a remote area with very few people living in the area. So I traveled to the property and checked it over personally, the main building was the best for making my home in. I also found a phone line was connected, but the switchboard had been removed. I could use the existing wires and reconnect phone and internet services quickly and at a modest cost. I returned to my city home, having made arrangements to get solar and wind power connected and phone services reconnected, a water pump connected to the well. Also, the water was tested and was better than I had hoped for. I had improvements done to my new home, a kitchen and bathroom added and repainting the interior of the rooms. The other 2 buildings would be left to after I had settled in. That all took several months, once finished I moved there and settled in. Exploring the property I found the property fencing was in good shape and so I got 5 horses for riding and some chickens. Turning the smaller building into a chicken run and the other into stables. Then I settled down to a peaceful life. I had only just started to enjoy my new life when my sister Anne 29 called and asked could she visit me.
