Desperate Mother

I've a 4bedroom 1bath house lived alone, a colleague just divorced 2 small children was doing okay until. Her ex-husband got drunk crashed his car and died along with his girlfriend the reason for the divorce. With childcare costs and rent she couldn't afford her current rental as it was draining her bank account. Her ex had no life insurance or much in assets either. her parents deceased and no close relative and her ex-in-laws unwilling to assist unless she gave up all her rights to her children. Not willing to do that she became desperate. Cheaper rentals were available, but cheaper childcare wasn't and then I entered the picture. Everyone at work knew of my house, at 32 I was very financially stable and well setup and single. Not that any of them asked me to help her, I'm a bit like Seldon from Big Bang Theory, not as anti-social just reserved. Anyway, as I didn't mix as much as everyone else, just in work related ways. I was oblivious to her problems; I wouldn't have offered my home anyway. I wouldn't have thought to do so if I did know, I'm not such an outgoing person. But as things grew more desperate for her, we'd to work together and she and I needed to finish a job asap. Meant working after work and so she came to my home after picking up her children from daycare. My home is on the way to her rental, and we worked to finish the job. I do have a dog a small Skye Terrier named Pikachu, so while she and I worked her children played with Pikachu. They really enjoyed playing with him, she realized renting rooms off me might be her best chance. But I wasn't receptive at first, but she was desperate and offered me sex as an incentive. My sex life was paying for it before that day. I did agree and they moved in, sex was once a week and she done the cooking laundry and house cleaning. I'm a very tidy person and the only real mess was made by the children. I soon noticed I was dumped by Pikachu who now slept in the children's bedroom. Their mother joining me in mine once a week, everything was going great until the takeover of our employer. My job was safe, she lost hers in the restructure. But we were getting on a lot better than I thought we would have. I then got promoted as my superior left and I replaced him. He took his assistant; so, I hired my now housemate. Not because we slept together or me being generous, the reason was I got on well with her pure and simple. We did celebrate my promotion and her new job; I wasn't required to travel. Christmas 2023 I decided I wanted to be a father and asked her about providing me with a child or children. Shocked by my request at first, she asked did I want to marry her. I hadn't thought about marrying her just having a child with my response was if you want too. Okay was her response so we married and now a son together and I've adopted her two children also. Only real change in my life since is she sleeps with me every night and we've sex more often. Otherwise, no real change to lives, Pikachu has taken to the baby also and stays close to it when not playing with the others. I'm very happy with new life.
