It pays to advertise

Failed at dating and wanting a family of my own, I (32) was overseas working. I heard of a local marriage market, but it was for the locals. But it got me thinking and so I realize I couldn't use the marriage market, but if I advertised for a bride maybe I would get lucky. I place ads in local newspapers and at first no takers, after several weeks of no interest I was thinking of stopping my advertising. Then I got a query on just what I wanted; I responded a wife to bare children for me was my reply. I later thought I should've also added to love in my reply. But I didn't need too, as my reply was enough as is. The woman 27 at the time had no family to arrange a marriage for her and was past the usual marrying age and on seeing my ad decided to give it a try. She was a catch as they say trained as a dentist and great looking as well. Didn't date as that wasn't the local custom without a chaperone. We met to gauge each other you could say, and I was very impressed with her, and she also liked me enough to proceed further at least. Several more meetings followed, and agreement made, no money involved. Even a dowry wasn't required as she was a dentist which is a major plus and negated the need for a dowry. We married in a civil ceremony as she had no family, and I didn't ask mine to come over. Mainly because I was in a hurry, just in case she changed her mind. Divorce is done in their culture but does happen rarely and also my contract there was coming to an end. We returned home to live near my parents who were very taken with their new daughter-in-law. After some requirements were completed, she was able practice dentistry, her very first patient being my aunt. Impacted wisdom tooth, I'd bought in to a local dental practice for my wife. With my aunt very happy with her treatment, my wife became the go dentist for the family. Which meant at family gatherings she was asked about what could be done for them by. It wasn't unusual to a family member mouth open getting her opinion on what they needed done. But I hadn't been idle, as I'd already gotten her pregnant. Much to my relief, now years later we've 5children and she is much in demand as a dentist. I've never regretted my actions in all our years of marriage, she is the perfect wife for me and a great mother to my children.
