Buying a Wife

I'm lousy at dating and being rich decided to buy myself a wife, at least I could pick the bride. I travelled overseas and start my bride search and found a very pretty girl, but she was snapped up by another. As I thought about her too long, so I wouldn't waste time next time. But there wasn't any that took my interest as the previous one had. Then learned of a sublevel bride market, women without dowries and it included widows and orphans. Who only hope for a better life was marriage, at first none took my interest. Finally saw one who did, she was older than most and gorgeous in my eyes. But why was she still unclaimed, was there a reason. Thru investigation I found she had been sole carer of her now late father and as such missed the prime years of the bride market women (16-24). But she was 26 and I was 33 and she had no family left a bonus in my book and no dowry. The dowry wasn't a concern and so I made an offer of marriage, and it was accepted by the broker before it was fully made. Having old women on the books drags down the prestige of the broker, no matter how gorgeous they are. Age takes priority in marriages; she spoke little English and I'd her tutored to improve her English and soon I was able to speak to her and be understood and also, I could understand her. She is quite intelligent and was held back by her lack of schooling. Now 14 years later I'm happily married with 5 children, my wife is still gorgeous and live aboard, as back home is so backward socially.
